We agree that there are no marriages performed in heaven, as these ordinances must be performed on earth and sealed by the holy spirit of promise. That is why we do work for the dead in holy Mormon temples. I performed the marriage sealing for my own parents, with my husband as proxy for my father and myself as proxy for my mother. Thus, their marriage can now be eternal, if they choose to accept and honor the ordinances performed in their behalf.

Mom and Dad can still be together without being “eternally married” or even “married.
